Civics is the study of what it means to be a U.S. citizen. As a United States citizen, I am privileged because I have more freedom than citizens of other countries have. I think the freedom to raise a family is the most important freedom because every one should have the right to get married, settle down, and have kids and raise them.
However, in some other countries this freedom does not exist. In China, you can only have one child. If you have a second child, these are some of the consequences that could happen: fines, pressures to abort a pregnancy, and even forced sterilization. I wonder what would happen if we had this law in the United States? Would having this law help decrease poverty?

Britt,
ReplyDeleteI am glad that you understand how blessed you are to be a U.S citizen. I have traveled to many countries, and I must say, that each time I return to the U.S, I appreciate my freedoms and rights even more.
Have you thought about what type of game you would like to create?
Ms. Dionne

ReplyDeleteYour blog about civics and freedom was really good. I'm looking forward to reading more of your blog posts and seeing your progress in Globaloria on your wiki page. See you again soon! David
Brittany,
ReplyDeleteI am very impressed with your blog post. We are very lucky to be in a country where we have so many freedoms. I believe many of us take them for granted. I have to echo Ms. Dionne's question, have you thought what type of game you want to create? Would it be on our right to have children? Some other freedom?
